I like the idea of the guys wearing grey and white - it'll tie nicely into your silver and white gown - and then they can have either pink flowers or a bit of greenery for their button holes.

Or should I just make it all very colourful and tropical??  I don't even know whether I can organise the reception venue theme from here, I wouldn't want to take stuff over on the plane to decorate.. ahh I got no idea where to start.

Maybe I'll just book ceremony and reception venues and then go from there!

Jade sounds very nice - go for some yellows to as the locals use a lot of yellow and pink flowers for festivals etc.

As a lot of you may know, my wedding is September 2010 in Bali... but I'm yet to organise much at all!  I have bought my dress, it is diamond white with a light silver ribbon just under the bust.  I STILL haven't decided 100% on the ceremony or reception venues, it will either be at a resort - just next to the beach or in a little chapel, next to the beach.. so obviously I'm having a beach theme. 

The colours I've been thinking about are Jade, Hot pink, white and silver.  Is this too much colour?  Will these colours even "go" together.  All 3 BM's love the idea of having a jade/turquoise cocktail dress and it would really suit them.  Was then thinking of having pink oriental lilies for myself (if they are in season) and white lilies for the BM's.  Should the guys wear all white?  or White top and grey pants.  (Just shirt and pants, no suits)  I'm after a very beachy, modern and fresh look, but everytime I google my colour theme nothing comes up. 

Just after some suggestions with my theme and attire.  Or any alternate colours that might look better?  pale pink instead of hot pink?  just jade and silver, no pink?? I'm going to struggle with the whole wedding planning as I have zero creativity or fashion sense!

We'd originally picked chocolate and mint and then discovered that my bestie/MOH had also chosen those colours.  Seeing that she was getting married first (and had been engaged first) I let her keep the colours and we chose again.  We were actually sitting in Coffee Club when hubby pointed to the artwork on the wall which was aubergine and orange - a swirly pattern - and we decided then and there that we were having those two colours.  It ended up being perfect for us!

Jenni, I've seen your gown and it looks incredible!  I would have loved to incorporate either my Mum's or Grandma's gown into my own but Mum hated her gown and I don't think Grandma's is around anymore as she was married in the early 1930s.

Once we hired our WC she pretty much came up with the whole concept based on what I asked for and with the input I got from the genius that is Miss Alera our theme was born.

So my MOH is wearing a Sapphire colour dress the boys are in grey and our colours are natural and earth tones. Can't wait to show you the photos and with only 7 weeks to go I can't wait.

I am wearing my grandmothers wedding dress (altered to suit me), which is 60 years old. Jamie (and the groomsmen) are wearing kilts, so it was hard for me to pick colours that I liked and also that I thought would go with the kilts.

So we decided to just go very simple and classy, use the dress as a base for a "vintage" theme. We're having a lot of white, flowers, vintage car... haven't 100% decided on colours yet but we're thinking of adding a pale green and maybe brown to the whites/creams that we are already having.

i have a white (pearl) coloured dress, my h2b is wearing a grey pinstripe suit, groomsmen in black, and bridesmaids in burgundy.

im having burgundy orchids and roses, h2b button hole is matching mine

bridesmaids having creams/white orchids and roses and groomsmen will match theres. everything else throughout the wedding will be black and white.
