A Bride’s Bolero

No matter how modern and sophisticated Bridal design evolves into the future, there will always be a little piece of us that wants to hold onto the past… A vintage vein pumping straight into our heart, reminding us of where we have come from. So what better way to wear the past on your sleeve than with a Vintage inspired Bolero? A little shoulder hugging statement sure to infuse a dash of old-world charm into your ensemble.

Many moons ago a Bride would rarely be seen in public showing any more flesh than was considered socially acceptable. Her date of betrothal certainly not deemed the opportunity to show a little skin. These days with all those old-fashioned customs put to bed, it’s more of a matter of free choice… Rather, a statement of our own individuality. In saying that, a hint of subtle femininity here and a snippet of modest styling there makes the Bridal Bolero a statement of the Bride you are; beneath the gown. We all want to feel beautiful, desirable, magical and effervescent as we say our I-do’s, so why not do it with a little lady-like class?

These designs all from Etsy sellers bring back a little of the stuff our Grandmothers were accustomed to. A mixture of Vintage lace and ruffled Chiffon, luxurious Silk and delicate Embroidery, each designed to adorn one’s shoulders and trim one’s decolletage. Pop a Bolero over a simplistic, uncomplicated gown or add an extra layer of fancy finesse to an already embellished number. Whatever you chose, you’re sure end up wearing a little history on your sleeve and a little feminine delight in your heart. ♥

These are lovely and perfect for covering your shoulders in church or another elegant setting on a summer’s day without overheating or sacrificing your dream dress
