A Good Tossing

After the I-do’s are done and dusted, providing your guests with something to throw at you is an age old wedding tradition that is still going strong. It originated in Roman times as a means for guests to shower the couple with well wishes of fertility and abundance. Today it is a fun and joyful way to fill a brides bra with confetti or rice. However your options don’t stop there. More popular and decorative alternatives such as fresh or freeze dried flower petals, bubbles and biodegradable paper cutouts are available and can be adapted and coordinated to suit your theme.
When choosing your weapon of choice there are a few factors you should be mindful of. If you wedding is in a garden, there are certain types of rice, plastic confetti or paper confetti that should be avoided as it can be damaging to wildlife and will not break down and basically leaves a big messy-mess. Consider instead biodegradable options as they are a safer and more practical way to have something thrown at you. If your getting married in a church or chapel check about whether confetti is allowed at all, some religious bodies just simply don’t allow it, so bubbles at the front steps might be the only alternative you have. But think of it this way, at least bubbles are gentle and mess-free and most importantly; don’t stand a chance at forming a collective community on the inside of your bra. ♥

I had flower petals at my wedding, only downside is they stick in your bra! But they made the photos look really stunning. Only bad thing about the bubbles is they leave your skin feeling soapy & sticky when you get 1000s of them blown at you.
