Anti-Floral Centerpieces

Don’t get me wrong here… I’m not starting a picket line and leading the pack in a “save the flowers” chant. Flowers are friends not foe but sometimes you might just want to express yourself in wedding decor that isn’t of the floral variety. If that sounds like you, your not alone and best of all your not low on options.
Centerpieces composed of candles, fruit, lanterns, vases and even candy can be a refreshing take on the traditional and ever-popular floral arrangement. This style of centerpiece works particularly well for low-key, causal events and can often become a unique conversation point. Whether you want to keep it simple and crisp with an array of tapered candles in crystal holders or get experimental with mini birds-nests or baskets of fresh fruit you really can let your imagination go wild.
The idea of using candy is pure genius in my opinion, it can eliminate the need for Favors by offering a buffet of sweet treats for guests to feast on throughout the reception. Not only do they look visually appealing but are often a more affordable decorative option over flowers. From lolly-pops to candy-canes, chocolate truffles to chewy caramels, it’s practically putting temptation on a plate and saying “dig in”. On second thoughts maybe I should start that picket line after all! ♥

Mmm, edible centerpieces! I like the sound of that! I had fishbowls filled with little goldfish. Was really nice to be able to watch the little fish swimming around. I think on the other hand, candles should be banned. They are so overdone, and everyone I seem to sit with thinks its great fun to burn everything flammable!
