Eat Cake Be Merry

When I first caught a glimpse of the delectable and delicious eye-candy at Eat Cake Be Merry, I was so excited I just had to share it with you all. It’s not often that I come across a website and just love everything I see. From the whimsical lovebird illustrations to the simplistic fondant artwork, the name of this New York Cakery says it all… And isn’t it true..? When we have a party we eat cake, whether it’s a Birthday, at Christmas time or the biggest and best party of all; a Wedding reception. On each occasion cake is used to celebrate, enjoy life and just ‘be merry’. Cake brings the people together… I say, amen to that.

Cake artist Liz Shim is the creative mastermind behind the creations at Eat Cake Be Merry. Trained by the best of the best it is easy to see she has a passion for what she does. I am fascinated by the intricate perfection of each of these designs and the fantastic use of colour. These cakes are playful and fun, just as they should be and despite their perfection don’t take themselves too seriously. In saying that, you should never judge a book by it’s cover and we all know it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Luckily Liz has got that covered too with delectable flavours from Red Velvet to Coconut and oozey-gooby fillings like Peanut Butter and Lemon Curd…

So if these cakes were little people, then I want to be one too… With a fun-loving personality that doesn’t take itself too seriously, a perfectly formed, colourful exterior and an inside as honest and sweet as sweet can be. So come visit all the characters and I’m sure you’ll agree. Eat Cake Be Merry, sure sounds good to me! ♥
