It’s so easy to get swept-up in the ample choices of beautiful bridal hairstyles that we often find ourselves forgetting the importance of a flawless make-up look to go with it. It can be tricky, especially if you’re not a regular make-up wearer, to pin point exactly what your Wedding day look should be. We’re lucky enough to have professional Make-up Artist Emma from Glamour Face join One White Dress to share some of her Top Beauty Tips and shed some light on some of the biggest Bridal Make-up Faux Pas!
Top 3 Bridal Beauty Tips
1. The key to great flawless make-up is great skin. Start your skincare program at least 6 months before your Wedding day. If your skin is not balanced, it can totally change the look of your make-up. Dry skin, sun tanning and clogged pores can all contribute to an uneven completion which can make even make-up application somewhat challenging.
2. Depending on your skin type, exfoliate your skin regularly. You should also keep skin hydrated with a multi-functional moisturiser and by drinking lots of water. Try to avoid junk food and fizzy soft drinks and invest in a good eye cream for extra benefit. Skin around the eyes is much more delicate and thin and needs that extra TLC.
3. When the night before your big day finally arrives, make sure your skin is well exfoliated and well hydrated prior to make-up application. If you follow these simple tips, they will help you guarantee that your skin will look flawless in your Wedding photos.
Top 3 Bridal Make-up Faux Pas
1.) Too Much Make-up. Your wedding day is for family, friends and your future hubby to see you over your make-up not your makeup over you. A good make-up artist will educate you and show you how to enhance your natural features. You can still have it dark with smokey eyes complemented with a nice soft pink or peach lipstick and gloss.
2.) Too little Make-up. So you don’t wear any make-up? Your wedding is definitely one day to you to look your best. Even the most natural and earthy bride needs a little make-up to enhance her gorgeous features. Work with your make-up artist to achieve your perfect look to what suits you. For example an earthy eye-shadow of Cream and light Brown would enhance your eyes but still remain soft and neutral.
3. ) Magazine cut out - Make me a star! A lot of brides tend to cut-out photographs of actors, singers and models for inspiration. Despite using photography techniques and being airbrushed, the majority of people don’t look like this in real life. Instead work with your make-up artist and use colours from the image on yourself and see whether these colours suit you. It might look great on Katy Perry, but bright Orange and Green eye-shadow might not give you the right look on your Wedding day!
Thanks so much Emma for giving us those simple tips to getting it right when it comes to Bridal Make-up. For more information check out the Website and you too can be a Glamour Face. ♥
