Hip to be Rectangular

There’s something about long banquet tables, busting with chatty guests, pouring good wine and celebrating. It feels like family and I couldn’t think of a better arrangement for a intimate Wedding reception. In saying that, there will always be a place for the traditional head table where the Bride and Groom sit with their bridal party as their guests are seated by perfectly executed seating arrangements at brimming round tables.
Long trestle tables strung together in symmetry is really something of an art. It works for small intimate gatherings and also for generous sized receptions as more guests can be seated, taking up less space. But it’s the accessorising and centerpiece decorations that make them beautiful. Harmonious lines colour in varying heights, shapes and sizes work together to achieve an outstanding result. From low lying bowls of coordinated candles to tall candelabras trimmed with moss and shrouded in blooms, there is a centerpiece option for every wedding budget. The trick to getting it right is is repetition… And lots of it. A continuation of colour, form or style as demonstrated in this amazing conical Rose tower display courtesy of Martha Stewart.
You can really think outside the square and experiment with elements uncommon to traditional Weddings. Why not squares of freshly cut Turf for a punchy green themed afternoon event, or rustic Bamboo mats piled with fresh white Singapore Orchids for a seaside affair? Let’s face it, they are visions that you just wouldn’t see with traditional round tables… So give it a try and you will soon see; it’s hip to be rectangular. ♥

These table decorations are just what I want for my marquee wedding reception! Thanks for the ideas. I really love the unusual one with the grass and leaves - I think I may have to go with something like that for my wedding (which isn’t until 2012 but I can plan, right?)
I’m looking for marquee hire companies and came across this one online http://www.westcountrymarquees.co.uk/wedding-marquees.php - they sound really good so I’m going to go with them. I just wanted to share that with anyone else looking to hire a marquee.
