Make me a Mermaid in 2011

As the new Bridal Collections from the all the well-known Designers trickle onto our screens, we are bombarded with a plethora of new styles and concepts. Trendy fabrics and embellishments and too-good-to-be-true couture make us goo and gaa, crossing our fingers that we too can wear that signature gown one day too. One collection in particular however, is like a prophet from the future, showing each Bride the way into Spring 2011. A shining star so to speak, where no confusion is warranted as we all beckon the era of the Mermaid, brought to us by Ines Di Santo.
Most designers showcase a collection of differing unique styles and creations. A few Ball-gowns here, a Sheath or two there and always the dramatic, show-stopping gown sure to be their standout in seasons to come. The Ines Di Santo Spring 2011 Collection however has honed in one a specific silhouette, a dominant and sophisticated style that can be seen in almost all their showcase gowns. With a fitted, structured bodice each gown flares out to show-off it’s mermaid features. A skirted-tail if you will, elongating the figure and dramatically drawing attention to what is the pure female form. I’ve always been a fan but seeing this new collection has really got me inspired.
With a clever and generous use of varying fabrics, some simple and some complex each gown in the collection stands on it’s own two feet… Or rather, should I say it’s flipper. From balloon skirts, to flouncy ruffles, laces and delicate beading to fancy gathering and bows. All to do now is wait with baited breath for this new wave to hit as Ines Di Santo paves the way for a new breed of Mermaids in 2011. ♥
