One Dress… Three Ways

Why put your maids through the great task of enduring a fabulous HOT Pink number with Orange rosettes when you know deep down, where the logic is, that they really will never, ever wear it again… So how can you make your Bridesmaids a mirror of your theme whilst limiting the colour of their gown? Easy, with the voila of accessories.
Take an uncomplicated, neutral gown and transform it into a vibrant and edgy Bridesmaid ensemble just with the use of a beautiful palette. I’ve started with this elegant and simple Satin and Organza dress from the David’s Bridal Bridesmaids collected. With it’s muted Taupe tone and tailored A-line silhouette it’s a gown that will suit 9 out of 10 figures. On it’s own it’s just a pretty dress but with the addition of some ‘right-now’ colour and a few finishing touches this could become the Bridesmaid ensemble that will go down in history.
For the first; a simple palette of Cornflower Blue… A hand tied bouquet of Roses, Calla Lilies and perfumed Freesias is the perfect accompaniment to set the tone. Wrap your maid up with a beautiful Blue pashmina and adorn her with a pair of fabulous Heels and she is on her way to turning that simple dress into something special. A pair of pretty earrings for her lobes and a cute clutch is all she needs to ensure your Blue theme is indeed covered.
The second is a fun and edgy mixture of bold and bright Fuschia, Orange and Green. Each tone, effective on their own but when put together give the outfit some well needed zest. Try a fancy pair of hot pink heels and a bouquet combining the three complimentary tones and your on your way to bold and bright Bridesmaid! Just make sure you have a few cocktails to match!
The third and final ensemble is a little softer… An elegant, winter outfit, combining a cozy fur caplet, pearl studs and a simple, long-stemmed bouquet of Roses. Neutral tones can most certainly be just as effective as bold, intense colour and this example shows that this winter Wedding will be far from boring.
So the moral of this story is: chose a Bridesmaid gown that is not only neutral but use your theme to guide you with flowers and accessories. When the Wedding is over, all you need is a quick chop at the knee, and your maids will have a pretty party dress to keep them dancing for many a more night to come. ♥
