Petit Four or Five

Decadent tiny morsels… So cute and classy, no wonder Petit Fours are the ultimate choice for Wedding Favours. Who wouldn’t like a bite-sized delight of moist, flavoursome cake, encased in sweet icing and decorated with the teeniest artwork. I’d like to say they’re too good to eat, but I’d be lying… And that’s just part of the charm.

From the simplest miniatures, coated with pale glossy icing and a swirl of chocolate piping, to the ornate and beautiful hand-crafted floral art designs, you can’t help but salivate just looking at them. Petit Four literally means ’small oven’. They were traditionally made during the cool down process in 18th century coal ovens, taking advantage of the warm temperatures. Today, with no such excuses, these culinary delights are available for us whenever we chose. All our favourite flavours wrapped-up from chocolate, coffee, lemon and vanilla… It’s learning when to stop that is the tricky part.

So take advantage of these petite delights and pleasure your guests with a treat that will last only a moment in their mouth, but forever in their memories… Or at least until they are offered another, in which the first will be long forgotten… Once you bite, you’ll never go back. ♥
