I’m so lucky to be able to see such beautiful Real Weddings here at One White Dress, and Emily and Edward’s Wedding day is certainly no exception. A vintage inspired theme with some bright colour thrown in, plus a few family heirlooms and traditional customs equals one magical Wedding day…

Emily and Edwards Wedding  took place on a beautiful Canberra spring day at the Australian National University Chapel. A stylish backdrop for what was to be such a stunning celebration. Emily wore a Spanish Lace gown by Pronovias and accompanied it with her Mothers veil, worn at her Wedding, 35 years ago. Bridesmaids were dressed in vibrant Paco Cornflower Blue gowns, injecting a splash of colour to an otherwise neutral palette.  Rather than carry individual bouquet’s, Emily chose wrist corsages instead, made up of plush Peonies, pearls and fluffy feathers… An creative element reflecting subtle vintage roots and beautifully crafted by Poetry in Flowers.

After their Catholic Mass Ceremony the couple relaxed for photos in the university grounds before making an entrance at their Great Hall reception. Their traditional Wedding cake was lovingly baked by Emily’s mother and decorated by a family friend. The recipe was reminiscent of Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth’s Wedding Cakes for a little royal touch! The remainder of the reception carried though on the couples thoughtful planning… “A live band ensured the guests danced through the night with our first dance a choreographed bridal salsa” said Emily. What a fun day this must have been for all who attended.
