Real Wedding - Emily & Stephen

Here at One White Dress, I’m always so excited to receive new Real Wedding submissions from my readers. Each completely unique and one-of-a-kind, complete with a few personalised touches here and there. Emily’s Wedding is certainly no exception with a fusion of traditional vintage elements and cultural influences working together for a stunning result.
On a hot November day Emily married her partner of 5 years in a country Wedding with a cultural twist. With family traveling from Ireland to witness the couples nuptials, Emily and Stephen created a day that reflected both their love for one another and also their families heritage. The bride paid tribute to her Grandmother by wearing her sisters heirloom veil. A piece stooped in tradition and first worn 65 years ago. To reflect their theme, the couple chose a historical stone church in Gundaroo built in 1879 and were married by the Bishop who baptised the Bride 25 years ago. The bridal party, which included many close family members were transported in classic vintage Jags and the decor was perfectly themed with beautiful floral arrangements reflective of vintage charm to create an old-world feel.
The couple managed to cleverly fuse Emily’s Australian heritage with that of Stephen’s Irish background to create a unique affair. They chose to surprise their with an Irish Folk band for entertainment, complete with Irish dancers. What better way to pay tribute to the grooms homeland, than to transport guests through music and dance! Guests were even able to sip on the beer named after Emily’s grandfather surrounded by the charming backdrop at Grazing Restaurant, “a beautifully rustic building once named the Royal Hotel Gundaroo, owned by my Great-grandfather”, said the bride.
Thank you Emily and Stephen for showing us a little of yourselves and for sharing your dreamy Wedding day with One White Dress. May your future together be as treasured to you as the past you so lovingly paid tribute. ♥
