Real Wedding - Raelene & Christopher

Thanks to Member Raelene for being the first to have her Real Wedding featured on One White Dress in 2010!  A warm and rich palette of Black, Burgundy and White provided the backdrop for this couples romantic and joyful occasion.

Raelene and Christopher carefully planned each element of their dream day with a sophisticated and personalised touch. They were married in the same church were Christopher was christened, making for some long-time family memories! Simple elegant design with emphasis on their chosen colour scheme accentuated their timeless concept. From the Bridesmaids dressed in Burgundy knee length dresses, to the vivid Cymbidium Orchid floral arrangements, each element made for a very personalised affair. I love their quirky cake design by Delaney’s, which included the couples monogram as it’s topper. Raelene also did some investigating of her own for ways to to incorporate tradition into their day. “We cut our Wedding cake straight away, as we did some research and found out that it was an old tradition. A form of  breaking the bread which eventually turned into a cake”.

Having lost her grandfather a month before her Wedding day, Raelene chose to honour his memory by having his wedding ring wired into her bouquet. She also displayed his photo at the reception to ensure he was looking on, and a part of the occasion. It’s special, personal touches like this that make a Wedding truly unique. What a special tribute this was and a part of her day that this bride will always remember.

The couples reception was held at the Novotel North Beach and their function room was filled with a warm and inviting atmosphere. From draped fairy lights across the ceiling to immersed orchid and mirror centrepieces, guests were welcomed with canapes upon arrival. For guest Favors “we had glass coasters personalised with the guests name placed on individual mini easels” Raelene said.

Raelene & Christopher’s Wedding day shows so perfectly just how personal touches can create priceless moments. A day that I am sure this couple will treasure for a lifetime. Thank you Raelene and Chris for sharing your Wedding day story with all of us here at One White Dress. ♥
