Romantic Mantilla’s

There’s something so romantic and timeless about a bride wearing a Mantilla. The delicate lace framing the face… The cascade of soft tulle or silk floating over a woman’s decolletage… The innocent, yet revealing cloak layered over a wedding dress. Queen Isabella II of Spain was responsible for revealing the Mantilla to the world. It was worn as a symbol of submission and pride and has remained popular in Catholic society.

Luckily for us today anyone can wear a Mantilla. You may opt to wear one to match the ornate lace detailing on your wedding gown or to the contrary may select a Mantilla to embellish and adorn your already simple dress. The choice really is staggering and any veil can be customised to suit the look you want to achieve. A fingertip veil with a tiny embroidered edge may just be enough to accent your style or perhaps an ornate layered wide trimmed cathedral style could complete your look.

WeddingVeil.com has an amazing array or styles and laces to chose from and fully customise each veil ordered. I can personally vouch for their service having ordered my Mantilla from them for my wedding in 2008. When it arrived I excitedly, yet delicately pinned it to the crown of my head. Like many modern women being dressed in a veil made me feel like a bride for the first time. I looked in the mirror and saw the bride I wanted to be looking back at me. For you, this may be any type of veil or perhaps no veil at all, but for me it took a Mantilla for me to see the bride in me reflected and proud to be seen. ♥
